Ohio Encouraging Environmental Excellence Program (E3)

The Encouraging Environmental Excellence (E3) program recognizes small to large businesses, non-profit organizations, schools, governments and others committed to environmental excellence. The program recognizes those committed to environmental excellence at all levels and it is open to a wide variety of participants. More details of the BronzeSilver and Gold levels are now available.

EPA Permit Wizard Updated

An updated Permit Wizard is now available.This online tool can help you identify the basic Ohio EPA permits, licenses and registrations you may need. Answer a series of questions and get a customized summary and list of resources and contacts to help you with your permitting needs. Existing businesses can also use the wizard as a way to “self-check” their compliance. It is targeted at small to medium-sized businesses that need to know the permitting basics.

EPA eDocument Search Now Available to Public

The public can now access documents online through Ohio EPA’s Ohio EPA’s eDocument search system. This initial launch contains all noncompliance documents issued since January 1, 2007. It is the first phase of electronic records posting to be undertaken over several years with the goal of having nearly all Ohio EPA public records available online. The search engine features instructions for use, frequently asked questions, and contact information for help or other questions.

Just Released! ESTCP FY 2013 Solicitation


The Department of Defense’s (DoD) Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP) released a solicitation on January 12, 2012, requesting proposals for demonstrations of environmental technologies.
  • DOD ORGANIZATIONS: The DoD Call for Proposals requests pre-proposals related to: (1) Environmental Restoration; (2) Munitions Response; (3) Resource Conservation; and (4) Weapons Systems and Platforms.
  • BAA and NON-DOD FEDERAL ORGANIZATIONS: The Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) and Non-DoD Federal Call for Proposals request pre-proposals responding to the following topics only: (1) Management of Contaminated Groundwater; (2) Characterization, Control, and Treatment of Testing and Training Range Contamination; (3) Military Munitions Detection, Classification, and Remediation; (4) Watershed Management Models/Tools for DoD Installation Applications; and (5) Demonstration/Validation of Alternatives to Cadmium Plating in Manufacturing and Maintenance of Weapons Systems.

The due date for all pre-proposals from both the Federal and non-Federal sectors is Thursday, March 15, 2012.
